Welcome to Nepal. Your flight lands at Kathmandu airport and you are met after you clear the immigration and custom formalities.
Our colleague assists you with your transfer to your hotel and the remainder of the day is at your leisure. You might like to wander into Durbar Square and explore its surrounding side streets.
Overnight at hotel.
Begin your sightseeing with a stop at Durbar Square in the old city, which acts as a historic record of four kingdoms and has some wonderful architecture from each reign. Here you will see the palace of the Living Goddess, the residence of the Royal Kumari, a young girl believed to be the incarnation of the goddess Taleju. Also on the tour is Swayambhunath Stupa, the Monkey Temple, a complex of temples of different faiths dating back to the 5th century.
Pashupatinath lends a touch of Hinduism to the tour. Nepal’s most important Hindu temple stands tall on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, surrounded by a bustling market of religious stalls selling marigolds, incense, rudraksha beads, and other essential pilgrim paraphernalia.
Your last stop is Bodnath Stupa. At the end of the day you get the opportunity to catch some of the evening chanting as local people and monks come to pay their respects. This is Asia’s largest stupa and hums with life as pilgrims offer their prayers under the watchful eyes of the Buddha, which gaze out from the gilded central tower.
Tonight, enjoy a welcome dinner with a local family for a true taste of Kathmandu. The views overlook the Bodnath stupa and the faint chanting of the monks in the distance lends a soothing air to the experience and setting which makes it a perfect way to end the day.

Take an early morning flight to Lukla in the Everest region.
On arrival you will be met and begin your trek to Phakding. This is a good introductory trek and you make your way to your traditional tea house lodge in time for dinner.
Be sure to get a good night’s sleep as the trek tomorrow is challenging.

After breakfast begin your day.
The first hour or so of the trek today is on undulating paths, and you will pass many beautifully carved mani stones. Soon after you enter the national park you will go over a high steel cabled suspension bridge and begin the climb up to Namche. The path here becomes steep, uneven and rocky, and you will be climbing through a mixture of pine forested and open terrain. About two thirds of the way up you will have your first glimpse of Everest if the weather permits your guide will point it out to you. Once you reach Namche Bazaar we suggest you relax for the remainder of the day.

Day at leisure to acclimatise.
We suggest you also do a little walking in the local area to get accustomed to the altitude. There are some charming villages located nearby you can visit. Khune, is a small sherpa village that sits in the valley at the foot of Khumjung Khumbi Yul Lha. Khumjung and Syangboche are two other small local villages nearby.

You trek to Thame through villages that have trading links with Tibet. Right up in the mountains here, you will be treated to some views right across the Everest range today.

Today you continue the trek to Tashinga via Sherpa villages. You will also have the chance to stop and take refreshments in a local tea house along the way which makes a refreshing stop and gives you an opportunity to mix with locals.
The evening is at leisure for some well-deserved rest.

Trek to Monjo via Tengboche Monastery. On a clear day the views of Everest and the surrounding peaks from the monastery are spectacular and you can see the route continuing on towards base camp. The monastery itself is wonderful, and you can go inside it and watch the monks chanting.
Continue down the other side of the ridge for about 30-40 minutes on a shallowly descending path through a rhododendron forest to Deboche, where there are a few tea houses and a small nunnery.

Today is a relatively easy day as you trek back to Luckla. You will enjoy your last night in a tea house lodge tonight.

This morning you bid goodbye to the mountains and fly back to Kathmandu valley.
The afternoon is free and you may like to wander through the bustling narrow lanes of Thamel.
Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner at the beautifully restored Garden of Dreams. This is one of the city’s most beautiful enclaves and though just a convenient walk from Thamel, the serenity is remarkable.
Return to your hotel after dinner.

After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport for your departing international flight.
