Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport declared as ‘Best Airport by Size and Region’ Airport Council International (ACI) World has bestowed the Best Airport Award by size and region in the ‘over 40 million passenger category’ to Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), fourth time in a row since 2015. The award will be given away at a ceremony held at the second ASQ Forum & ACI Customer Experience Global Summit (September 02 – 05, 2019) at Bali, Indonesia. The award reflects the airport’s excellence in service parameters that go beyond satisfying the needs of travellers. India bags first prize at the international ‘Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2019’ at ITB Berlin The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has bagged the First Prize in the ‘TV Cinema Spot’ category at the international ‘Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2019’. Several promotional films/television commercials as part of the Ministry’s Incredible India 2.0 Campaign also received the awards, namely Yogi of the Racetrack, The Reincarnation of Mr and Mrs Jones Sanctuary in Paris, Maharani of Manhattan, and The Masala Master Chef. The award will be received by Yogendra Tripathi, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, at ITB Berlin. India records over 20% growth in number of air routes: IATA India is estimated to have 480 million flyers, and as per International Air Transport Association (IATA), India has recorded a growth of over 20% in the number of new routes in India. The increased inflow of international flyers is motivating airlines such as Air Italy and NokScoot to make new air routes in India and to collaborate with Indian carriers including Jet Airways and IndiGo to start operations on foreign routes. Amendments in rules for e-Tourist and e- Business Visa The Ministry of Home Affairs (Foreigners Division), Government of India issued a circular regarding the amendment of the Visa Manual. E-Tourist and E-Business visa applicants would be eligible to enter India from the date of grant of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) till any time in the next 365 days, for which period their visa would remain valid. Also, E-Visa for tourists will be for a period of one year from the date of issue of Electronic Travel Authorisation instead of period up to one year from the date of first entry India with multiple entry on e-Tourist Visa and e-Business Visa (conditions applicable). On E-Tourist Visa, continuous stay during each visit shall not exceed 90 days in all cases except nationals of USA, UK, Canada and Japan, for whom continuous stay during each visit shall not exceed 180 days. No registration is required for a stay-period less than 180 days. Foreigners will also be required to register with the FRRO/FRO concerned in case the aggregate stay in India on e-Business Visa and/or normal Business Visa exceeds 180 days during a calendar year.

Air India Express to fly twice a week from Kunnur to Bahrain The first direct flight service from Kunnur to Bahrain has been initiated by Air India Express, opening up many new opportunities for tourism and trade between the two countries. Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India, will operate a service between Kunnur International Airport and BIA twice a week, with a stopover at Kuwait. Vistara adds 3 new routes for peak summer season (April 16- July 15) Vistara has added 14 flights to counter the surge of travellers, for the period April 16 – July 15, 2019. Three new routes have also been added for this duration (Mumbai – Bengaluru, Mumbai – Hyderabad, and Mumbai – Kolkata). The airline will also be flying on the Pune – Hyderabad route during April 07 – April 30, 2019, as well as Delhi- Raipur (with double daily flights to/from Delhi) and Delhi-Dibrugarh (via Bagdogra)
