Rann of Kutch Festival

Khalid Khan Jaipur The Rann Utsav festival was a merry affair and I thoroughly enjoyed scores of amazing activities such as horse rides, camel safaris, cultural shows, hot air ballooning and village treks to name a few. This gala winter festival starts in Bhuj and culminates in a small village called Dhordo. The nearby jungles, temples and museums offered lots of delightful distractions as well.

One of the biggest salt deserts in the world, the great Rann of Kutch in the Gujarat state of India is known not only for its natural splendor but also for The Rann Utsav. Organized by the Tourism Department of Gujarat, The Rann Utsav is a grand winter festival that takes place when the air is crisp and the moon is at its fullest. The Festival kicks off in Bhuj and the finale is at a small village called Dhordo, easily accessible from the Bhuj airport.
